Nunatak Advisory Board

The Nunatak Group’s Advisory Board consists of experienced industry experts. Our board members get involved in projects, contribute with ideas and provide guidance to our team and help in strategic questions.



Prof. Dr. Claudia
Linnhoff-Popien

Claudia Linnhoff-Popien holds the chair in „Mobile and Distributed Systems” at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich. In addition to her teaching activities, she works together with renowned companies such as Siemens, BMW, VW and Munich Airport to implement innovative IT solutions.

Upon finishing her Ph.D. at the Technical University in Aachen she did postdoctoral research at the Washington University of St. Louis, Missouri, USA before she was appointed to a professorship at the LMU Munich in 1998. She is a founding member and chair of Digitale Stadt München e.V. and editor of the business magazine DIGITALE WELT.


Marco
Janezic

Marco Janezic is an entrepreneur and investor active in a variety of sectors, such as media, biotech, IT, services and social impact. He is also a Founding Partner of Blue Ribbon Partners, a corporate finance boutique, where he is primarily responsible for media related projects. 

Prior to his entrepreneurial endeavours, he worked in investment banking in the UK, as well as in management consulting in Germany.  He holds an M.A. in Theoretical Physics and Philosophy from the University of Oxford. In addition to other voluntary positions, he is a member of the German unit of the G8 Social Impact Investment Taskforce. 


Emilio Galli
Zugaro

Emilio Galli Zugaro was Head of Group Communications of Allianz SE until 2015, for a total of 23 years – the longest serving individual in this function at a DAX company. Today, he advises young companies and coaches senior executives, besides holding advisory board positions such as at The Nunatak Group.

In the 1980s, Emilio studied political science in Würzburg and Rome and served in the public relations departments of various political institutions. 

Furthermore, as a former journalist, he had worked, among other positions, for the German public television station ARD in Rome and as Wirtschaftswoche’s Italian correspondent.

Managing Directors

Robert Jacobi

Managing Director & Founder

Robert doubles as a management strategy consultant and an expert in how to digitally produce, distribute and market content. He has been involved in several successful web start-ups, as well as transactions in the tech and media sector. In Robert’s previous career as an award-winning journalist, he worked for major media outlets in Germany, France and the U.S. Robert holds graduate degrees from Munich University and Harvard University.


 

Rupert Schäfer

Managing Director & Founder

Rupert has more than ten years of experience in the fields of consumer Internet and media. Rupert previously worked at Hubert Burda Media, where he managed a portfolio of successful investments. He was also the long-time producer of Europe’s leading Digital Zeitgeist conference, DLD (Digital, Life, Design). Rupert has founded several companies and is an active seed investor. Rupert holds an MBA from the Munich Business School.

Our Philosophy

WALKING THE DIGITAL TALK.

We are a digital strategy consultancy founded in 2011 by wholehearted digital entrepreneurs. Our managing partners, Robert Jacobi and Rupert Schaefer, witnessed the previous disruption in the media – one of the first industries under pressure by what back then was an emerging Internet economy.

Today, we develop digital strategies for companies across diverse industries – ranging from media, telecommunications, and financial services to big consumer brands and industrial groups, a number of which are DAX-listed.

By focusing on digital marketing and communication, growth strategies, digital coaching and investment advice, we help our clients tap the potential of the ongoing revolution. We take pride in doing so with a team of digital enthusiasts who walk the talk.

Our strategies are designed to help our clients’ businesses stand out from the crowd. Instead of applying standard approaches and frameworks, we create highly individual solutions based on knowledge and skills gleaned from dozens of digital transformation projects. We accompany our clients from conception through the implementation of strategies.
